gnupg1 software package provides GNU privacy guard - a free PGP replacement (classic version), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnupg1
gnupg1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnupg1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnupg1 *
You will get with gnupg1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
